About this deal

We can arrange for the exam to take place under the watchful eye of a centre approved invigilator at no additional cost. For many years now, we have seen an increase in the use of Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) in the UK. Although the BS 7671 can be a hard book to navigate, our course has been designed in such a way as to ensure that you will have the knowledge to identify and find the topics covered in each of the relevant parts of the book.

There are no formal entry requirements for this 18th Edition electrical course, but the qualification is primarily aimed at electricians and other allied professionals and trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations. While Amendment 2 has increased the use of these products, it isn’t to the extent that we have seen in the drafts. It is not a requirement for all electricians to be certified under the 18th edition wiring regulations. In general, BS 7671 applies to circuits supplied at nominal voltages (U 0) up to and including 1000 volts AC or 1500 volts DC. You will also find that when looking to register as a domestic installer on a competent persons scheme, you will need to prove you are up-to-date with the latest qualification even if you have previously completed a Level 3 NVQ.

The title became "General Rules recommended for Wiring for the Supply of Electrical Energy" with the third edition in 1897, "Wiring Rules" with the fifth edition of 1907, and settled at "Regulations for the Electrical Equipment of Buildings" with the eighth edition in 1924.The main thing is that all installations designed from January 2019 onwards must comply with the new regs. Competence and Certification: The regulations emphasise the importance of competency in electrical installations.
