About this deal

Each crime is a carefully constructed puzzle that can unfold in a variety of ways depending on how the detectives choose to pursue their investigations.

Instead of managing leverage tokens, the solo player must manage their detective's stress levels while they attempt to solve the case in time.In truth, this is really for a solo play as it involves asking questions and using the Sleuth Casebook which is just a book field with responses to questions being asked. Detectives can challenge responses that they think are lies but at great risk: If they're wrong, The Chisel will acquire leverage over them, making the case that much harder to solve. Detective: CoA uses the innovative ARC (Adaptive Response Card) System to create the feel of interrogating a suspect. They are the game master whose job it is to keep the detectives from getting to the bottom of the case.

As the detectives turn the city upside down, uncovering fresh evidence and "hot" leads, hidden suspects may be revealed and new lines of questioning will open up, creating a rich, story-driven experience! Each detective will now receive an investigation sheet that they will fill out with their suspects on the left side going down and lettered case cards going across the top.If you owned a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 in 2011, then you probably remember the excitement of Rockstar Games’ L. They must answer the questions needed to solve the case which will be placed on their investigation sheet. When a player chooses to question a suspect, the Chisel will choose one of several possible answers.

While the first couple of cases are easy to solve, they quickly get more challenging and will give you a real thrill. The instruction manual does come with a great example of how the Chisel can make the game more exciting, and the more the Chisel gets into the theme and the excitement of those interrogations, the more fun all the players will have. Detective City of Angels, set in the dark and violent world of 1940s Los Angeles, is a game of mystery, deception, and investigation for 1–5 players.

Couple these with the unique mechanics of later missions and no two games of Detective: CoA are ever the same. BE A HEEL: One player will take on the role of The Chisel, whose only goal is to stall and misdirect the detectives at every turn using bluffing, manipulation, and (often) outright lies. By keeping the game fun for the players, and trying to make sure that no one detective gets too much edge on the others, you can make Detective: City of Angels a truly magical experience for the people who are playing it. Nothing is more satisfying than correctly challenging a tough witness, and nothing is funnier than watching a player repeatedly failing to recognise that the sweet old lady next door really doesn’t know anything! Step One- They will chose a lettered case card that is public knowledge or that they currently have a knowledge marker on.

It’s then up to the detective to deduce whether that suspect is telling the truth or deliberately misleading them. The first day of the game a detective will place their miniature on the board at a police station at the start of their turn, this is only done on the first day. Investigate: Detective: CoA uses the innovative ARC (Adaptive Response Card) System to create the feel of interrogating a suspect. I also do this in solo—if I don't solve the mystery "in time," I acknowledge that, but still let myself see the case through. Question- When the Detective is at a location with a suspect they may ask a question, which is done in five steps.
