About this deal

There is NO compilation that does a good job of covering the post 1990 era--and the forthcoming Diamonds doesn't really do that, either.

If you’d like to file an allegation of infringement, you’ll need to follow the process described in our Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy. That also meant the contents for his 1977 and 1987 follow-up greatest-hits albums were changed, so that "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" (both from 1976) were removed from the former (these two songs being replaced on that album by "Tiny Dancer" and "I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford)" respectively) and instated on the 1992 compilation Greatest Hits 1976-1986, which not only fulfilled his MCA deal but also replaced his 1987 Geffen compilation, Greatest Hits Volume III, 1979-1987.

If you are looking for a very specific version/pressing/variant please check with us first and we can send pictures. All other songs made the Top 40 in the UK and the US, most also making the top ten, with "Bennie and the Jets" and " Crocodile Rock" topping the chart in the States. Tracks 3 and 4 were replaced for the 1992 reissue by "Tiny Dancer" and "I Feel Like a Bullet (in the Gun of Robert Ford)" (from Madman Across the Water and Rock of the Westies respectively); the two former 1976 songs would appear on Elton's 1992 MCA compilation Greatest Hits, 1976-1986. It was certified gold and platinum in December 2002, double platinum in March 2003, triple platinum in August 2004, four- and five-times platinum simultaneously in February 2011, and 6× platinum in April 2016 by the RIAA. This is a limited addition with the standard 2 disc Digipak with 40 page booklet bundled and also includes a special 4 track bonus disc in a card sleeve. This is the kind of item that Elton fans just have to get, despite knowing each and every song by heart. The single " Bennie and the Jets", which had topped the charts in both the US and Canada but which had not been released as a single in the United Kingdom at that point, appeared on the American and Canadian edition of the album. hits in the US; in Canada, five (these two plus " Daniel", " Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and " Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me") had been chart-toppers. I have enjoyed listening to these cds because they are filled with all of his best loved songs that I listened to and bought as a youth. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places.

It's also known that Elton's first greatest hits release from 1974 was one of the few anthologies by any artist to reach number 1 on the charts. My favorite Elton John compilation is actually the 2 disc promo Selections From Rare Masters/Selections from the Elton John Collection [ Elton John - Selections From Rare Masters ].
