When the reality is that women’s bodies work on a cycle and this cycle affects performance, metabolisation, how women’s brain and body works. I Have all the determination and willpower in the world for a diet that works, but after 2 or 3 months of no fat or weight loss, it is clear that it doesn't work. It's amazing that once we stop eating (after just 17 hours) the cells literally rebuilt and heal themselves and we don't need to do anything for it. This includes people who have gone through menopause, or those who might not get their period due to stress or birth control.

But I understand that this book is for a non-specialist audience, so if you know absolutely nothing about fasting, nutrition or metabolic health, this book is probably ground-breaking – so kudos to Dr. Fasting no doubt has benefits for other scientific reasons but all her claims in terms of your cycle are exaggerated. What doesn't make sense is the whole premise of this book, which is that the routine needs to be different depending on which hormones we're producing each week.The writing style employed in the text is characterized by its clarity, conciseness, and ease of comprehension, rendering it highly accessible to a broad range of readers. Another study published in 2020 in Cell Metabolism found that people who ate during a 10-hour period experienced greater metabolic effects than when the exact same things were eaten during a 14-hour period. It’s been a popular mantra for years – if we eat fewer calories than we burn working out, we’ll lose weight and be healthier. So when I started to work out this, this formula for myself and teach it to the world, I saw very clearly that women needed to fast differently and there was a very specific way. And what we’re doing as women is we are internalising that; we are creating more guilt, more shame, because we are not thriving in this patriarchal health care system.
