It isn't so suitable if you don't have any experience as it *is* a technical book and it does look daunting on first opening because of all the detail inside.

I personally use the 5th edition of this book (purple cover) but if you want to be all up to date there is now a 6th edition (Oliver green cover) , I'm not sure there's much difference though.
