About this deal

I don't own many poetry books, but in my mind, this is poetry that both an expert on poetry and a casual reader can enjoy. the Literary Bohemian, DecomP, Damselfly Press, Union Station Magazine, Foundling Review, the Huffington Post, CNN. Poems as such, you would doubt, might not have translated well into written form, but it does so perfectly in a different perspective. Regardless, nothing can prepare you for the poems you haven't read yet, and there are quite a few of them. What sets No Matter the Wreckage apart is Kay's ability to find magic in the ordinary, painting intimate portraits of unlikely love affairs between objects and exploring whimsical topics. Most importantly, the poems themselves are beautifully written, capturing a spectrum of ideas and topics in a really touching, personal fashion. Well, it is an outstanding collection of poems which I do not want to give away too much of, but this collection will only make you wish there was a volume 2. If you've ever seen a performance by Sarah Kay you probably realized how much she puts in her poetry. No Matter the Wreckage' is the kind of book that keeps getting better and better as you read through. Her second book, "No Matter the Wreckage" is a collection of poetry from the first decade of her career, released March 18, 2014. Most of us have had the experience of being forced to read poetry in school, laboring to find the "hidden meaning" that may or may not have been placed there intentionally. No Matter the Wreckage presents readers with new and beloved poetry that showcases Kay’s talent for celebrating family, love, travel, and unlikely romance between inanimate objects (“The Toothbrush to the Bicycle Tire”).

For a future book there may be value in considering whether playing with grammar, spacing, font and sizing changes etc. I've also recommended the book to my other friends that are into poetry, and even some that haven't read poetry before.

This collection's transformative helps readers to find a sanctuary of words that uplift your spirit and ignite imagination. Both fresh and wise, Kay's poetry allows readers to join in on her journey of discovering herself and the world around her. On a practical level, a poem that is spoken benefits from being presented with the tempo and emphasis that the poet had in mind. Poets as such are few and far between, and if this is what Sarah Kay has to offer in her 20’s I cannot begin to imagine what her life long career and future works will be like. After seeing Sarah's talks on TED I instantly knew i had to read and have her poems to keep on my library shelf.
